A Christ-Centered Wedding at Longhorn Guest Ranch

Some weddings leave an impression long after the last dance, and Rebecca and Trace’s wedding at Longhorn Guest Ranch was one of those days for us.

It was one of those picture-perfect June days in Idaho—the kind with warm sunshine, gentle breezes, and the mountains showing off in every direction. The beauty of the setting was only outshined by the joy of the people gathered there.

Rebecca is especially dear to our family. We’ve had the privilege of knowing her through our church for several years, and she’s even cared for our children while we’ve been away photographing weddings. She has always been a delight—kind, joyful, servant-hearted, and a beautiful reflection of a woman who loves the Lord. Being asked to photograph her own wedding was an incredible honor.

From the very beginning of the day, it was clear that Christ wasn’t simply invited to the wedding—He was the foundation of it. Every part of the celebration pointed back to Him. Their ceremony was centered on the Gospel, their vows reflected a desire to honor God, and it was evident that Rebecca and Trace were beginning their marriage with Jesus at the very front.

As photographers, those are the moments we treasure most—not just beautiful details, but genuine faith lived out.

One of our favorite parts of the day was watching the unscripted moments unfold. During Rebecca and Trace’s first dance, Trace’s young niece wandered onto the dance floor and simply stood nearby, taking it all in until her dad gently came to scoop her up. It was one of those sweet, unplanned moments that no timeline could create.

Later, during the cake cutting, another little guest eagerly wandered over and ended up enjoying the very first bite of cake before anyone else had been served. Rather than feeling like interruptions, these little moments added to the warmth of the celebration. They reflected the kind of people Rebecca and Trace are—welcoming, joyful, and genuinely delighted to have the children in their lives be part of their wedding day.

Another part of the day that deeply moved us was witnessing the beauty of adoption and God’s redeeming work through family. It was incredibly meaningful to see Rebecca surrounded by both her biological mother and father alongside her adoptive parents as they celebrated this new chapter together. Watching everyone gather with love, support, and joy was a powerful reminder that families are often woven together in remarkable ways. It was a beautiful picture of redemption, grace, and the love that God shows each one of us.

Longhorn Guest Ranch provided the perfect backdrop for every part of the celebration. The peaceful mountain setting, wide open views, and rustic elegance created an atmosphere that felt both intimate and timeless. It was the perfect place for two people whose greatest desire was to honor Christ as they stepped into marriage together.

Rebecca and Trace, thank you for allowing us to tell your story. It was such a gift to witness your wedding day and to celebrate alongside you.
