A Lakeside Wedding Adventure on Payette Lake

Set along the shores of beautiful Payette Lake, these two exchanged vows at Rhett’s family’s lakeside cabin—a place that has been cherished by generations of his family. There’s something incredibly meaningful about getting married in a place that’s filled with so many memories, and it made every part of their day feel deeply personal.

But what made this wedding truly one-of-a-kind was how everyone got there.

Guests gathered at Shore Lodge before boarding boats that carried them across the sparkling waters of Payette Lake to the ceremony. It felt like the beginning of an adventure, with friends and family taking in the mountain views as they made their way across the lake. After the ceremony, everyone climbed back aboard and returned to Shore Lodge for an elegant lakeside reception.

The forecast had called for rain. Instead, we were gifted one of those perfect McCall summer days—the kind that seems made for boating, mountain scenery, and celebrating outdoors. Calm water, beautiful light, and comfortable temperatures couldn’t have created a better backdrop.

Of course, no wedding is complete without a little unexpected excitement.

Their sweet golden retriever, Sammy, completely stole the show during the ceremony with an enthusiastic sprint down the aisle that had everyone smiling. As if that weren’t memorable enough, he even managed to sneak a bite of Rhett’s mom’s corsage before making his grand entrance. It was one of those perfectly imperfect moments that everyone will remember for years to come.

One of our favorite things about Hannah and Rhett was simply watching them together. It’s obvious how deeply they love one another, but even more than that, you can tell they’re intentional. They approach life, relationships, and decisions with thoughtfulness, and that quiet confidence was reflected throughout their entire wedding day. Every detail felt purposeful while still keeping the focus exactly where it belonged—on the beginning of their marriage.

They also assembled an incredible vendor team that made the day such a joy to be part of. Working alongside Sage Wedding & Events was an absolute pleasure. Hannah and her team created a seamless experience from start to finish, and we sincerely hope it’s the first of many weddings we’ll have the opportunity to work together on. Lake Tree Entertainment kept the celebration going all evening, creating an energetic, fun atmosphere that had guests filling the dance floor and celebrating well into the night.

Whether it’s transporting guests to a private ceremony location or simply stealing away for sunset portraits after your reception, it creates an experience that’s uniquely McCall and results in some truly incredible memories—and photographs.
