A Beautiful, May, Deer Flat Ranch Wedding

Some wedding days are beautiful because of the flowers, the weather, or the venue. Others are beautiful because of the people and the heart behind every moment. Erin and Devin’s wedding at Deer Flat Ranch was both.

On one of the most gorgeous May days Idaho has to offer, friends and family gathered beneath blue skies to celebrate two people whose love for Christ was evident from the very beginning of the day. While every wedding tells a story, this one continually pointed back to the One who writes the greatest love story of all.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was watching Erin’s childhood pastor officiate the ceremony. There was such an intimacy in hearing someone who had known her for so many years speak blessings, encouragement, and biblical truth over their marriage. It wasn’t simply someone performing a ceremony, it was someone who had faithfully walked alongside Erin through seasons of her life and now had the privilege of joining these two together in marriage. It was deeply personal and incredibly moving.

Another thing we loved about Erin and Devin’s celebration was how intentionally they welcomed families. Everywhere we looked, there were children laughing, playing, and simply being kids. With more than fifty little ones in attendance, they created a wedding that truly embraced every generation. From the bounce house that kept little feet busy to a dance floor packed with guests of every age, the entire evening felt full of joy and genuine community.

One of our favorite personal touches was their decision to serve handcrafted mocktails and coffee instead of a traditional cocktail bar. It was such a refreshing choice and created a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests gathered, visited, and celebrated together. (Since Laura is a coffee lover, she thought that the coffee bar was a definite highlight!)

It was also such a joy to work alongside Little Bird Events once again. Shadaya and Sierra have such a gift for creating weddings that feel both beautiful and effortless, and every thoughtful detail came together flawlessly.

Erin and Devin, thank you for allowing us to witness and capture such a meaningful beginning to your marriage. Your wedding was a beautiful reminder that when Christ is at the center, every detail takes on a deeper purpose. We pray that the joy, faith, and love that filled your wedding day will continue to mark your marriage for many years to come.
