Under a Blushing Idaho Sky, One Question Marked the Beginning of Forever.

When Dylan first reached out to us, his excitement was contagious. He told us he was planning to propose to his girlfriend—soon to be fiancée—at the beautiful Shore Lodge in McCall, Idaho. From that first message, we were giddy with anticipation, knowing we’d get to capture one of life’s most unforgettable moments.

We came up with a plan that would let us blend in seamlessly. Rob and I dressed up and pretended to be out on a date of our own, enjoying the peaceful views from the docks at Shore Lodge. The sun was dipping low over Payette Lake, painting the water in soft golds and pinks. When we saw Dylan and Sophie walking our way, we got up, holding hands and snapping selfies—playing our part perfectly.

As we passed them on the dock, I asked Sophie if she would mind taking a photo for us. I told her we were celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary—which was kind of true since we had just celebrated! With her sweet smile, she happily agreed, and we offered to take their photo in return.

That’s when the magic started. As Rob discreetly handed me my camera, we walked away arm-in-arm, glancing back just in time to see Dylan pull out a letter. We paused, hearts racing, and captured the moment he got down on one knee. It was perfect—quiet, intimate, and overflowing with love.

When I tell you these two are the sweetest couple, I truly mean it. As we spent the evening together taking engagement photos around Shore Lodge, we discovered their deep love for Jesus, which was beautifully evident in the joy and light that shone from within them. The night ended with the mountains glowing pink and the water perfectly still—like creation itself was celebrating alongside them.

It was such an honor to document this milestone for Dylan and Sophie. We’re so excited for them as they begin this incredible adventure of marriage together—especially knowing that Jesus will be at the very center of it all.
