We have been so excited to share this post! This is one of the main reasons for us going to back to Uganda after Laura went 11 years ago. Eleven years ago when Laura went to Uganda and served at New Hope Orphanage in Busia, Uganda she made so many long-lasting friendships with many of the orphans. She has been able to keep in touch with many of them and the desire to go back to see them has only intensified over the years.
With the help of some of our friends that lived in Uganda we started planning a reunion party as soon as we booked our flights. Laura couldn’t wait to meet these precious people again and she was so excited to introduce them to her family.
We had so much fun preparing for the party. The day before the party we all went to the market and got as much food as we could manage! Aunt Jennifer prepared the food and it was the most delicious dinner! Ugandans love to make mountains of food on their plates. It’s really quite amazing to watch. 😉 Even though we had over seventy-five friends come (we were planning on forty!) we still had plenty of food!
Our sweet friends had a wonderful program planned for us that included dancing, singing and blessings. It was beautiful. After the program we had cake and more dancing. So much fun!
Below are some picture from this glorious day. You will see so many beautiful faces. Faces that have gone through so much in the past eleven years but that are remembered and loved so much. We thank the Lord for the opportunity to once again reunite and share our love for one another. We couldn’t count the amount of times they thanked us for remembering them.
We all want to be remembered, don’t we? We all desire to be known and loved. People are important. Relationships are important. They are the only thing that lasts. Invest in them. Love people well. You will never regret it!
Follow along for more of our life, work, style, and, of course, very attractive people.
