A Romantic, Elegant Summer Wedding in Sun Valley, Idaho

Katrina and Ben’s wedding was one for the books—a day full of love, resilience, and a joy that could not be dimmed, even by the unexpected challenge of smoke from nearby wildfires. Their dream of an outdoor wedding surrounded by the stunning mountain views of Sun Valley had to be reimagined just a day before the wedding. But, in true fashion, this incredible couple handled the last-minute changes with such grace. The amazing team at Sun Valley came together to make the transition seamless, allowing Katrina and Ben to focus on what truly mattered—celebrating their love.

This wedding was especially dear to us, as we had the honor of photographing Katrina’s sister’s wedding in McCall just two years ago. We were beyond thrilled to reunite with this sweet family, who has completely stolen our hearts, and to get to know Ben’s family as well. It’s hard to put into words how much joy it brought us to capture another milestone in their lives—we couldn’t stop smiling the entire day!

Courtney and her team at Ivory and Sage Events worked their magic, ensuring every detail of the day was perfect, even with the curveballs thrown by the smoke. Their ability to adapt to the last-minute venue switch was nothing short of impressive. Watching them pull everything together so flawlessly was awe-inspiring, and it was clear that Katrina and Ben’s day was in the best hands.

We were also over the moon to work with Kacie from Bloom Theory again! Kacie is not only one of the most talented floral designers, but she’s also a gem of a person. Her exquisite floral designs brought such beauty and elegance to the day, transforming both the ceremony and reception spaces. Each arrangement added a touch of magic, complementing the natural beauty of the venues.

Katrina and Ben chose to have their ceremony at Our Lady of the Snow, a stunning Catholic Church in Sun Valley. The setting was perfect for the couple’s desire to keep the Lord at the center of their marriage. It was a truly beautiful ceremony, filled with moments of reflection and heartfelt vows.

After the ceremony, we headed to the River Run Lodge for their reception. By the time we arrived, the smoke had lifted just enough to allow the cocktail hour to be held outside on the patio—such a blessing! Since Katrina and Ben chose to do a first look earlier in the day, they were able to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests after finishing family photos, soaking in the love and laughter of their friends and family.

The reception was an absolute blast, and JT from Soundwave Events kept the energy high all night. The dance floor was packed, and the joy was contagious! Watching everyone celebrate Katrina and Ben’s love was the perfect end to an unforgettable day.

From the heartfelt ceremony to the joyful reception, Katrina and Ben’s wedding was a testament to love—both for each other and for the family and friends who surrounded them. We are so grateful to have been part of this incredible celebration and can’t wait to see all the blessings their future holds!
