A Beautiful Fall Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge Wedding with a Little Rain

It was a beautiful, late fall day last year when we met Alaina and Josh for their engagement session. The four of us had such a fun evening exploring the beauty of the mountains of Idaho and even had a little rainstorm come through for some added excitement. We just loved these two and had so much fun with them in front of our cameras

We were thrilled beyond words when, a few weeks later, they ask us if we would be willing to photograph their Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge wedding. The answer was an ecstatic, “Yes!” Alaska has always been somewhere that we have wanted to visit together. Its gorgeous landscapes and rugged terrain has always been so alluring! Laura had always been a bit jealous that Rob had the amazing chance of guiding up in Alaska before they had met. So, having the opportunity of exploring it together was a dream come true!

The Wedding Day

Alaina and Josh had a gorgeous wedding! Yes, it may have been rainy but honestly, the way that they embraced it and continued with the dream of an outside ceremony, rain and all, made us so happy!! It was super romantic watching them declare their love and commitment to one another with rain and tears streaming down faces. Watching them handle the first “storm” of their married life with such grace, love and happiness set such a beautiful foundation for the way we know that they will handle other storms that come their way!

Another really fun aspect of this Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge wedding was meeting and working alongside such an incredible vendor team! Saige from A Touch of Saige Events handled this wedding like an Alaskan (this makes it even more legit) Pro! She was so easy and great to work with before and during the wedding. Eric from APE Entertainment was awesome and it was so fun to find out he was friends with one of our favorite Idaho DJ’s, Eric Rhodes. The HAMU team was so friendly and did a great job rain-proofing the girl’s looks! As you could probably guess, Laura fell in love with the floral arrangements. Dallas from Bloomsbury Blooms did such a beautiful job creating arrangements, incorporating foraged pieces that complemented the rich fall tones beautifully!

Overall this wedding will be remembered so fondly! Alaina and Josh, thank you endlessly for letting us travel to beautiful Talkeetna Alaska for your amazing wedding! We loved adventuring with you in the rain and thank you for trusting us and our vision! Alaina, you walking in HEELS down a muddy HILL with a SMILE gives you five stars for your adventurous spirit. It must be because you are Alaskan! We have so much respect. We are so excited to share these images and wish you the very best!
