We had so much fun playing in the snow with Allie and James! Engagement sessions are often the first time that we get to meet our couples face-to-face. It’s just so fun to have the opportunity to get to know them during their engagement session. We found out that these two are so fun to be around! Those smiles and laughs are contagious and we hoped they had just as much fun as we did during our time together.

We always think winter sessions are super magical! When our couples choose to embrace this cold season, we always get excited! Winter sessions can bring extra challenges but they also seem to bring a little extra magic.

If you find yourself looking towards planning your engagement session here are some things to consider. We always suggest planning to have your engagement pictures taken in a different season than when you are getting married. This gives you diversity variety and shows off the beautiful seasons that we have here in Idaho.

If planning a winter shoot, we love all of the potentials that there are for layering. It’s easy switch up your outfits easily by swapping out a sweater, adding a scarf, or putting on a coat. Something else you will definitely want to think about is how to keep yourself warm. Because we aren’t gonna lie. It gets cold up here in the mountains of Idaho! Allie and James wore long,warm layers under their outfits, had gloves and hand warmers, and wore good boots for trekking in the snow. They get an A++ for being prepared!

Because of their great planning we were able to pull off beautiful sunset pictures in Allie’s gorgeous flowy dress. You know how much we love a flowy dress. Well, Laura does, the jury is still out on Rob. 😉

Allie and James, Goodness! We had so much fun with you both and it just makes us so much more excited for your wedding next October!! We can’t wait!! Happy New Year! 2021 has so much good in store!! 🙂
